This lovely and unusual Art Nouveau piece depicts a giant leaf, supported by curled leaves and branches. Upon the furled stem of the leaf sits a waiting ladybug. I adore how nature's beauty becomes art in these early Middletown pieces. The details are so intricate at a time it was really quite difficult. I have searched but can't find another!
It may have originally served as a serving dish of some kind, but perhaps a centerpiece or napkin holder.
The piece measures 8.75 Long, 6 Tall and just under 6 Wide. It weighs 1.4 lbs.
It is marked on the bottom and also says triple plated.
It has some tarnish and will take a little work to fully restore. Please see all pictures to assure your happiness .
