I had fun exploring with different symbolic elements and folklore in this piece. Serpents coil around a barren tree, its branches holding a pomegranate split open like the core of life itself. Beneath the tree, a chained unicorn sits among rising flames, a symbol of restraint and transformation. The muted sky and crescent moon bring a sense of calm in the chaos.
