Orrefors Swedish Crystal Votive Candle Holder - Discus Design by Lars Hellsten
A beautiful and stylish Orrefors Crystal tea light candleholder by Lars Hellsten. Designed to herald the World Athletics Championships in 1995 and inspired by its namesake, the Discus is polished above and patterned beneath creating a candle glow like an Olympic flame. Lars Hellsten was a renowned glass designer for Orrefors for over 25 year and his work is featured in museums throughout Europe.
The candleholder is 5 in diameter and stands approximately 1 1/2 at its highest. It holds a standard tea light candle in its center. It is in very good overall vintage condition with no chips or cracks noted. The glass is clear throughout and it has the original Orrefors sticker affixed.
A very wonderful addition to any fine crystal or glassware collection that will make a statement on any table top it graces.
