Includes router and TWO satellites, total of three WiFi access points. Router is only one that has to be connected to your wired network or cable modem - that is what Mesh is.
All in working order, updated to latest NetGear software and reset.
One of satellites' white plastic got a bit yellow, not sure if you can see it on the pictures. Should be hidden in a closet somewhere anyway.
This is useful of you have a large house or want to string WiFi along your property, maybe even multiple buildings.
Unlike many mesh systems, this one has dedicated back channel that is used only for stations to talk to each other.
Can be used as a router OR as an access point(s) to extend existing network.
