SOME ARE MISSING THE WHEELS, SEE PICTURES.
This basic set was one of two cataloged by Bachmann in 1970 for its new HO-scale model train releases. The set included the original 8-wheel drive F9A diesel locomotive model with caboose in matching road name, three freight cars, and a circle of 18-inch radius brass track. The road names listed for 1970 and 1971 included Burlington, Penn Central, and Santa Fe. For 1972, Bachmann adds CP Rail to the list of road names. For its 1974 catalog appearance, CP Rail is dropped and Burlington Northern is added. In 1975, the set is renamed The Diesel Hustler. For the first three years (1970-1972), this set could be purchased with power pack (MSRP: 26.95) or without power pack for 19.95.
