Each box contains 3 lights (total of 6 lights). They take AAA batteries (not included). They operate by remote control, and there is no need to actually pull them. The chain length is 42” and the overall length is 49”. They attach by a carabiner latch on one end. One box is still factory sealed, the other box. I opened up to show what they look like.
