WHAT-NOT WHITTLIN'S is just what the title implies; a little of this, a little of that, arranged in a hit and miss fashion, as were the objects on the what-nots of old. Because the stories are compiled from actual experiences gleaned from research work of more than thirty years, I'll have to ask you to pardon first-person mention throughout the book. I claim no elegancy in style of writing. I do, however, claim to be a pioneer in glass collecting and am glad to say started before the commercialism with the big C crept in.
